Feeling overwhelmed by changes at work or fear of layoffs? Explore how coaching helps professionals shift their mindset, build confidence, and reclaim their power—even in uncertain times
Hi Friends,
There’s no denying it—there’s a lot of uncertainty in the world right now. The economy feels fragile. We’ve had multiple elections. Industries are shifting. Buying habits are evolving. And jobs? Many are in flux.
We are, without a doubt, living through a time of massive change.
Naturally, people are asking:
- What’s going to happen?
- What will this mean for my job?
- How will this affect me and my family?
Facing Uncertainty at Work
A coaching client of mine is currently facing major changes at work. There’s a swirl of unknowns: restructuring, possible layoffs, shifting roles.
In our coaching session, every fear came to the surface—financial worries, the stress of job hunting, low morale, and growing dissatisfaction.
But at the core of all this was a deep feeling: a loss of control.
Coaching as a Tool for Change
Coaching is about getting to the heart of the matter—examining a tough situation from multiple angles and trying on new mental “lenses.”
This work isn’t easy. It takes courage, curiosity, and a willingness to look within.
But with commitment and vulnerability, something powerful happens:
People begin to uncover what’s really bothering them—and more importantly, what’s within their control.
The Power of a Mindset Shift
This client realized they were caught in a loop of “shoulds”:
- This shouldn’t be happening.
- It’s not fair.
- Whatever comes next will be worse.
And while those thoughts may feel valid, they were also painful—and amplified by conversations with colleagues who were reinforcing the same fears.
That loop was keeping them stuck.
From Fear to Confidence
Once they stepped back and noticed the pattern, things began to shift. Even though the situation at work is still unresolved, they’re now feeling:
- Stronger
- More confident
- Aware of their options
And as a result—they feel more powerful.
